It's 4 pm. We get home. My girl's friend is coming for dinner. What is for dinner? Blah, blah, blah. It's Pad Thai. I can do it from scratch but tonight the sauce is from a jar. Lots of tofu, some garlic chives - or garlic leeks as they are called in the local Asian grocer. I surprise everyone with Korean Enoki Mushroom Pancakes. The Asian grocer sampled them one Saturday. The woman who made them told me the ingredients and I found a recipe at My Korean Kitchen. They are easy to make and get a surprising welcome form everyone.
Dinner was on the table at 5:30 and we made it out of the house just after six. Off to school for movie night. Did you know that The Muppet Movie is almost 2 hours long? Amazingly, small children really can sit still for this.
Home at 9:15, guest gone at 9:30. Kids are wired. Their dad gets home from the hospital just as they are falling asleep. Goodnight all.
